PLEASE NOTE: Change of date to 20 October (due to the 22 September National Day of Mourning public holiday).

Need guidance on the maintenance requirements of the major GPTs and other proprietary devices available in Australia today?

Join us to learn how your Council or organisation can achieve the best performance and value from your significant investment in environmental protection assets.

This course will take participants through the national Guidelines for the maintenance of stormwater treatment measures 2020 and provide valuable advice on maintenance of these assets:

  • planning and budgeting
  • asset information
  • cleaning specifications, tools and methods
  • stakeholder involvement
  • waste disposal
  • removal targets and product performance specifications
  • typical errors in cleaning process and how to avoid them
  • how to report and what to report, and how to use this information to optimise asset function and maintenance programs
  • auditing assets, upgrades & decommissioning
  • asset handover
  • dewatering of GPTs.

The afternoon session will include visits to a range of proprietary products for stormwater treatment focusing on best-practice cleaning techniques.

Stormwater NSW initiated the preparation of the national guidelines, which provide guidance in how to maintain your stormwater quality treatment solutions. The guideline was written to fill a significant gap that existed in the market with regard to the dozens of proprietary solutions available. A modified version of the guideline will be provided to participants focusing purely on the elements relating to proprietary products to compliment the Water Sensitive SA WSUD Inspection and maintenance guidelines that focus predominantly on vegetated WSUD assets.

The national stormwater treatment guideline includes a standard one-page cleaning specification for the model of all GPTs and proprietary products currently available in Australia. Councils can use these to define cleaning specifications for cleaning contractors to quote in a consistent manner.
