Maitland Regional Art Gallery - Upriver Downriver - Various Artists

The exhibition celebrates the Hunter region through the artists, landscapes, communities and stories connected by the Hunter River.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey that follows the river from the Upper Hunter, through Maitland, along its tributaries and downstream to the Port of Newcastle. Rather than focusing on a single style or medium, it brings together more than 40 Hunter-based artists working across painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, installation, printmaking and mixed media.

The exhibition fills every gallery space, creating an immersive experience that showcases the depth and diversity of contemporary art being produced across the Hunter.
