Event description

From the Afro-Puerto Rican community of Piñones, the Ballet Folklórico Internacional Majestad Negra (“Black Majesty International Folkloric Ballet”) is an internationally recognized “bomba” group that includes dancers, singers, and drummers. They are the flagbearer of the Corporación Piñones Se Integra, a non-profit community organization dedicated to anti-racist education and advocacy for the people of Piñones (Puerto Rico) who face challenges related to environmental degradation, poverty, and anti-Blackness. They performed in Costa Rica, Cuba, St. Croix, Ecuador, and Zanzibar.
