Event description

Feed your feathered friends and get into the holiday spirit with a decorative birdseed wreath!

Elena Ulev will help you get to know the common winter birds who might visit your yard – chickadees, juncos, nuthatches, and more. Then let the festive wreath making begin! Using seeds, gelatin, and decorative dried berries, you will create a lovely wreath to keep or give as a holiday gift. You’ll be able to watch the antics of backyard birds as they fly to and from your wreath, practice your birding skills, and connect with wild nature right outside your window!

Instructor: Elena Ulev is a Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide with 30 years of experience as a scholar, professional biologist, writer, and educator. She teaches with MNHC, the Glacier Institute, MOLLI, the O’Hara Commons and Sustainability Center, and her business, Blue Heron Nature Tours.

Included:

  • Silicone bundt pan to take home and use year after year

  • Materials to make the wreath in class – birdseed and berries, gelatin

  • Ribbon to hang your wreath outside

  • Hot cocoa to sip while you work!
