Make a Felt Treasure Tapestry Workshop
Event description
Join us for an afternoon of creativity and contemporary felt making! In this class you will learn the basics of wet felting, using NZ merino wool and other natural fibres. We will create a small felt tapestry, which can contain 'treasures' such as shells, stones, beautiful fabrics or threads. Bring along any treasures that you might like to include in your artwork.
You will leave with an original creation, plus the skills to continue felting at home. Suitable for all abilities.
Materials list: Please bring 1 towel, plus any treasures for your tapestry. All other materials will be provided.
Children 10+ are welcome to attend with an adult.
Venue: Arts Centre Maker Workshop, corner of Hereford St and Rolleston Ave.
Tutor: Simone Bensdorp from Wild Felt.
This workshop requires minimum numbers to go ahead. If the class is cancelled, you will be notified 2 days before and full ticket price will be refunded.
