AHOY KIDS!
WIN A TRIP ON A PIRATE SHIP
HOW?
Make a pirate hat at home, and bring it along to participate in the official pirate hat fashion parade at the Geelong Wooden Boat Festival.
Captain Red Beard along with a special guest will judging. The winners will get to take a trip on a Pirate Ship!
WHEN & WHERE?Â
11am, Sunday the 10th March 2024
Other kids activities will also be running from 11am - 2pm

Get your craft on and create an artwork from your imagination. As long as you can wear it on your head, we will consider it a hat!

USE RECYCLED MATERIALS
Our earth is special. So, let’s do our part, gather recycled materials from the school yard or home to make your art. We hear Captain Red Beard gives extra points to our earth warriors.
FILL OUT THE ENTRY FORM
Get a parent/guardian to help you complete the online entry form which can be found at: www.woodenboatfestivalgeelong.com.au/pirate-hat-comp
Entry is open to all 3-12 year olds and there are five age categories.
- The Powder Monkeys (3 & 4 year-olds)
- The First Mates (5 & 6 year-olds)
- The Quartermasters (7 & 8 year-olds)
- The Navigators (9 & 10 year-olds)
- The Boatswains (10 & 12 year-olds)
ON THE DAY
Make sure you arrive in time to register (30-minutes before)Â and get your pirate crew number ready for the parade. Each age group will be called to the lawn to participate in a parade at the following times:
- 11:10am - 11:20am The Powder Monkeys (3-4 year-olds)
- 11:20am - 11:30am The First Mates (5–6 year-olds)
- 11:30am - 11:40am The Quartermasters (7-8 year-olds)
- 11:40am - 11:50am The Navigators (9-10 year-olds)
- 11:50am - 12:00pm The Boatswains (10-12 year-olds)
JUDGING
Captain Red Beard and a special guest will be judging and will award one winner from each age group category.
THE PRIZE
The winner of each age group will receive a family ticket (2x children and 2x adults) to sail on one of the Tall Ships visiting for the festival.
