Make and Mend - Weekly sewing group
Description
Come along to our sewing group at SPAN Community House! Whether you’re just starting out or already confident with a needle and thread, this peer-facilitated group is a great way to connect, share skills, and enjoy sewing together.
Each week, we gather to mend, make, and learn from one another using both machine and hand-sewing techniques. Bring your own project - whether it’s visible mending, upcycling old clothes, hand-quilting, tackling zipper repair, alterations, or sewing from a pattern - or get inspired by others.
We focus on shared learning, creativity, and building a supportive community of sewers whether you want to:
work on a group project
work on your own project
take advantage of our sewing machines.
Everyone is welcome! From anyone wanting to learn to use a machine, to advanced sewers.
All basic equipment is provided, including shared use of our in-house sewing machines. Just bring your projects, your ideas, and a willingness to share!
When: Weekly Thursday, 10:00am-12:00pm
Location: SPAN Community House (Kookaburra Room)
Cost: $10 per session
Bring: A sewing or repair project, if you have one
