Make Your Own Session - Kitchen Cleaners

Want to kick the habit of high-chemical and petroleum-based cleaners? Looking for a simple, reliable all-purpose cleaner recipe you can actually stick with? Finding it hard to source ingredients, or frustrated by having to buy far more than you need? Then this Bulk Make Your Own session is for you.

Supported by Roving Refills and led by our wonderful volunteer Dianne, this hands-on workshop will guide participants through making liquid laundry detergent, pure magic bathroom cleaner and an all purpose cleaner in bulk using Dianne’s favourite Nancy Birtwhistle recipes.

The products will then be divided up for everyone to take home, test out and use. Bring your own bottles if you like, or use one of our upcycled brown plastic bottles. Everyone will leave with at least 200ml of each product in which they can add their own essential oils to finish.

As we make the products together, we’ll explore the ingredients, discuss how to use and store them, and share ideas for low-toxin cleaning at home. You’ll leave with three tried-and-tested cleaning products, practical knowledge about where to source ingredients and how to make your own in future — and maybe even a few new friends along the way.
