Makepisi - South African acapella workshop and / or concert

In the style of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the group showcases this assembly of powerful black voices. This is a space for the artists to share their culture with the audience, through song and discussion.

The rich, invigorating sound that is Makepisi is guaranteed to inspire and uplift.

The group had its debut performance in April 2021 at the opening concert of The Bolte Singers Festival, performing to a sell-out crowd and receiving a standing ovation. Invitations to sing at festivals around

Australia quickly starting coming in, along with bookings to facilitate vocal workshops for choirs.

This promises to be a very special day with Makepisi at Coolart Wetlands and Homestead and will be held in the Observatory.

The day will be in two parts and attendees may choose to attend the singing workshop in the morning and / or the concert in the afternoon.

A food truck will be available on site for lunch so you may choose to eat lunch in the beautiful Coolart gardens and take a walk around the wetlands. Or, you may choose to leave the property for lunch at one of WesternPort's many cafes or wineries.

The day's timetable is as follows:

Vocal Workshop: 10:30am - 12:00 noon

Lunch: 12:00noon - 2:30pm

Concert: 2:30pm - 4:00pm

2:30pm - 2:50pm One World Voices - (local community choir facilitated by Valanga and Andrea Khoza)
