Maker + Maker with Denis Smith

The City of PAE is excited to present its monthly workshop series titled Maker + Maker.

Maker + Maker offers a professional exchange of creative knowledge between an expert with individuals seeking new creative experiences. Focusing in on the art of making, The City of PAE is inviting some of South Australia’s best makers to guide you on making your own piece of art.

Join us for an exciting workshop with Denis Smith, a master of light painting—a multidimensional art form that captures the movement of light through time and space. This workshop introduces various light painting techniques, from creating free-form light sculptures to illuminating objects in motion. Participants will learn how to set up and operate their cameras to capture these unique artworks. The session will be hands-on, allowing everyone to create their own light painting images, including stunning light-painted portraits. We’ll start indoors with some theory and basics, then move outside to light up the night from 5–10 pm. Please bring a camera with memory cards, fresh batteries, and a tripod, as these are essential for the workshop.

This workshop will run from 5.00pm - 10.00pm with opportunity to break for some dinner or snacks.

Suitable for ages 15+, please bring your own dinner and water bottle.

This workshop is $30 and you will leave with your very own light painting images that can be gifted or kept for pride of place in the home.
