Event description

Learn how to create a beautiful nature print from flowers and leaves, using the ancient Japanese practice of pounding with a hammer or a stone. Flower pounding, or Tatakizome, is an ancient Japanese technique of hammering plants to create patterns on fabric. It is a very simple technique that renders gorgeous results.

At this workshop you will create a print on a piece of fabric and also a gift card to take home.

Please bring some brightly coloured flowers and a hammer or flat stone with you to pound!
