This 1 Day Workshop will give you confidence to get started!

Workshop Content

Join us for this intensive, hands on, practical Workshop as we explore the basics of on farm fermentation based biofertilisers. During the day you will learn how to make a range of on-farm recipes including:

  • Basic Starter Cultures
  • Compost Inoculants
  • Biofertilisers
  • Hydrolysates - high protein bioferments made from animal or food waste

This Workshop will demystify bioferments on farm and will give you practical tips for making and using them. The Workshop will be held on farm and includes a Manual with open source recipes.

    Presenters:

    The workshop is led by David Hardwick and Simon Mattsson. David is an agroecologist and a leading regenerative agriculture extension specialist. He has been working with biologicals for over 15 years. He spent 5 years as an R & D manager for a biofertiliser company where his role was in Quality Assurance and field trials of a range of biological products. Simon is a regenerative farmer and consultant. He is a pioneer of soil health based farming in the Mackay district and has been using biologicals as part of his farming for a number of years.     Venue & Catering
    The course will be hosted by Simon on his farm at Marian near Mackay. It is co-sponsored by Reef Catchments.
    Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea are included in the Course Fee.

    Places & Conditions

    Places in this Workshop are limited to 30. In the event that the course does not go ahead due to minimum numbers not being reached 7 days before the course commences, or due to COVID restrictions or other exceptional circumstances, a full refund will be given. Attendees must abide by all COVID requirements of the organisers at all times.
