Thu, 9 Oct, 5pm - 7:30pm NZDT

Event description

The Climate Change Commission estimates New Zealand needs $34 billion in additional investment by 2035 to achieve our low-carbon transition. With the government stepping back from meaningful climate action, how do we mobilise private capital to fill this gap?

With fantastic panellists, including Rohan MacMahon (Partner, Climate VC Fund) and Katie Beith (Head of ESG, Forsyth Barr), join Lawyers for Climate Action NZ and the Climate VC Fund for a conversation about how we can make capital work for the climate.

This is a hybrid event - join us for drinks and nibbles in Auckland, or online via Zoom.

What we'll explore:

  • The reality behind the "ESG backlash" - how real is this, and what needs to change?

  • Legal and regulatory frameworks that enable (or hinder) sustainable finance.

  • Opportunities for lawyers and finance professionals to drive change

Who should attend:

Lawyers, investors, sustainability leaders, policy makers, and anyone interested in the intersection of finance and climate action.

The Details:

  • Date/Time: Wednesday 9 October, doors open at 5pm, panel discussion 5:30-6:30pm

  • Venue: Sustainable Business Network, 48 Emily Place, Auckland Central and on Zoom.
