Learn to create your own medicinally effective infused oils

Come and discover how to craft oils of high quality, good shelf life and with the potent energy that comes from connecting with the plant spirit as an ally. Explore several methods of manufacture, with both fresh and dry herbs, with ways of optimising the extraction of constituents.

We’ll also be making herbal liniments, combining your infused oils with tinctures for topical use in a range of conditions. Liniments are for much more than just sore muscles!

In the sacred herbalism way, we connect with the land and the spirit of the plant, combining energetic elements, such as flower essences with a deeper heart communion.

This will be a very practical workshop with demonstrations and herb connecting and collecting. Plus, you’ll receive notes of all the processes and your own fresh plant oil maceration you create from locally growing plants.

You will learn

  • How to create and apply herbal infused oils in the clinic or home
  • Which base oils to use and their effect
  • Several effective manufacturing techniques, including sunlight, heat, alcohol and double extractions
  • How to reduce rancidity for shelf stable infused oils
  • Actions and indications of various infused oils, including plantain, chickweed, calendula, dandelion, nettle, mugwort, St John’s Wort, arnica, comfrey, mullein
  • An introduction to making salves from infused oils
  • How to create herbal lineaments with tinctures, infused oils and essences for a range of indications
  • Useful infused oils or lineaments for topical application in sore muscles, shingles, swollen lymph, sunburn, itches and bites, minor burns, radiotherapy, disc and nerve pain
  • Lunch! With time for more chatting and herby discoveries
