Making Home: Ascot Vale Housing tours
Event description
Dunlop Avenue, Ascot Vale is one of the first projects designed and delivered under the Victorian Government’s Big Housing Build, a landmark $5.3 billion investment in social housing across Victoria.
With 200 new social and affordable homes, Dunlop Avenue reflects a vision for an integrated, safe and accessible community that prioritises resident amenity and social and environmental sustainability.
Spread across six buildings within an established landscaped environment, the new precinct’s homes are 'tenure blind', meaning they are arranged and designed to be indistinguishable from each other.
Master-planned to retain significant open space and celebrate the established trees on site, the project uses timeless and durable materials which are compatible with the surrounding residential context and contribute to a high-quality streetscape.
What's On
Tours will focus on the architectural and landscape design as well as the drivers for delivering this significant social housing project. Homes Victoria will provide background to the Big Housing Build objectives and design leads from Hayball and Tract will take visitors through building entries and corridors, an apartment and a range of outdoor spaces.
