Join Cholena and we will work with the sun to create art, and the sun and weather at the time will determine the outcomes of what we produce. Whether you are new to cyanotype or printmaking, this is a great opportunity to work with a simple and exciting medium. Using natural objects like flowers, leaves, seed pods, sea-shells etc you will create unique artworks to take home and enjoy.

If we do not reach the minimum number of 6 paying participants this workshop may be cancelled. If this workshop is cancelled, paid participants will be notified by email and given a full refund. Individuals can book only one 'Pay what you can' or 'Contribute to Sonder' NAIDOC workshops.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

PROFILE
Cholena (Koa) was born on Turrbal Country, grew up on Kabi Kabi Country and now lives on Jinibara Country. After many years of study at both Tafe and university, Cholena has a strong art practice in many areas of Visual Arts. Using a large variety of materials and processes, her art shares her love for Country. Cholena wanders in the bush, listens, breathes in the air, her senses observe all the intimate details with a feeling of incalculable significance and importance with the connection to her environment. Her artwork offers the viewers a glimpse of the experience felt.

By including a practice of Connecting with Country (sometimes referred to as Dadirri - deep listening) in all her work, Cholena’s art reflects her love of the natural world and the bond she feels with Country. Drawing on her
