Event description

Kia ora, Talofa Lava, Hello

We are hosting a free Mana Wāhine Trade event (Women in Trades).

This event is an opportunity to learn about the trades and how to get started, meet local employers and apprentices and hear what is currently happening in the construction industry.


5pm drinks and nibbles, event 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Family, friends and colleagues welcome.

Guest speakers include:

Dr Terrelle Hegarty researcher of the "Glass Scaffold" project which explores women’s experiences of working and responding to construction industry conditions. 

Jasmin Lawrence Project Manager for BUILDhers, a first in New Zealand all-female-built home with over 40+ tradeswomen onsite. 

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) encourages women to pursue, establish and sustain successful careers in the construction industry. Their vision is to be the leading voice for women in this sector.
