Event description

This workshop is designed for anyone who is exposed to challenging interactions in their workplace or community.

The Workshop aims to provide participants with the knowledge of why a person might present with distress, become abusive or be aggressive.

Participants will explore contextually what may be behind challenging behaviours and in doing so, will learn the skills and knowledge to handle these interactions in an objective and empathetic way.

Using the Lifeline ‘Recognise, Respond and Refer’ framework, participants will learn:

  • Communication skills to assist with emotional and aggressive conversations
  • Strategies to de-escalate anger
  • Setting Boundaries
  • How to develop their own self care plan
