Course Overview

With the current state of the world, businesses have had to adapt how they operate and manage staff, including many working from home, roster schedules or change in hours. This presents a number of challenges for managers, but a key one is monitoring staff behaviour.

Every employer has a legal obligation to provide a safe working environment for their staff. How do you do this when many staff are not being directly supervised if they are working from home?

When an incident occurs or a complaint is made, it is the obligation of the employer to ensure workplace investigations are carried out fairly and appropriately.

The changes in how people are working during COVID-19 may alter the process of how to conduct a workplace investigation. Poorly conducted investigations (and potentially unsound findings) could present significant legal risk and liability for you and your organisation.

This 1/2 day online course will provide a clear strategy for managing investigations during this pandemic. Walk away with the confidence and knowledge of what to do if an investigation is required, even when you have to conduct it in an online format.

This half-day course will focus on:

Fundamental rules on workplace investigations
Understanding the process - when, how, who?
Short form vs full form investigations
Gathering and analysing evidence - best practice tips
Surveillance: What is appropriate for use?
Interview techniques: Adapting to online interviewing
Drafting the report

If you are responsible for any aspect of workplace investigations this course will prepare you to manage the next incident the right way.

Save 20% when you book two or more from your organisation.
