Event description

Join WoTL for the Managing Your Ewe and Lamb Nutrition for Optimal Performance Workshop with Colin Trengrove this April.

This interactive workshop will focus on some of the key principles of managing your sheep’s nutritional requirements whilst maintaining soil cover and preventing soil erosion. The workshop builds on the 2022 Managing Your Ewe Nutrition learnings, but it is not a prerequisite to have attended that day. The day will cover:

  • Meeting the needs of the ewe through pregnancy and lactation
  • Ewe health management
  • Decision making points for confinement feeding and managing the autumn feed gap
  • Feed budgeting
  • Managing lambs to optimise survival, growth and fertility

The day includes morning tea, lunch and the feed budgeting spreadsheet to take home.

BYO laptop or device if you want to use the feed budgeting spreadsheet in the workshop.

The day will also be an opportunity to connect with other women involved in farming while learning how to care for your livestock and farming soils.

Tickets are $55 + Booking Fee. The full cost of this workshop is $460. Thanks to generous support from WoTL and sponsors the fee has been heavily subsidised.

This project is supported by the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants Program, made possible by the regional landscape levy.
