This session provides an introduction to the key elements of an end-to-end supply chain, the need to balance demand with supply, and for this to be fully integrated into all of your business activities. This may include procurement / supplier activities, transportation, warehousing, inventory management and customer service. The focus of this session will depend on the industries and interests of those attending.

The content of this workshop has been developed in consultation with industry groups and the latest theory with hands-on, practical experiences.

This session is highly practical and you'll leave with a range of tips to help you get the most from your supply chain with the limited resources available.

This topic covers:

Basic theory of supply chain management;

Supply chain risk - including those related to COVID-19

Resources required, both human and computer systems;

Procurement and supplier management;

Inventory management;

Warehousing;

Manufacturing and operations management;

Local, national and international logistics.

This session is for people who are, or are thinking of becoming, a small business owner and are looking to develop and extend on the skills you already have; Who want to learn in a collaborative environment that supports your development while extending your networks within the small business community; Who want professional development that provides tangible outcomes, with tools that can be directly applied to your own business.

The facilitator of this topic, ECU, is ranked Australia's top public university for 'Business and Management' in quality of educational experience, teaching quality, skill development, and student support. Their presenter is a current supply chain manager working in a small business.

This workshop is presented by the Small Business Development Corporation, a Western Australian Government agency that helps small business owners to start well, survive and thrive.
