Mānava Breathwork & Cacao
Event description
Connect to the power of your breath and your medicine within.
Talofa friends and family, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our community.
This event is designed to create an opportunity for yourself, to explore your internal landscape and tap into a deeper level of consciousness. It is here we are able to access our bodies intuition and wisdom.
Our spaces are created with intention, beautifully designed to welcome, support and hold you on your journey within, using your breath as medicine.
THE MĀNAVA STORY & MISSION
MĀNAVA is the Samoan word for breath. Being of Samoan descent, we incorporate not only the samoan culture, but also the warmth of other pacific cultures in the spaces we create. Our mission is to empower others by passing on tools and rituals that allow you to unlock the greatest version of yourself.
MEET YOUR FACILITATOR:
My name is Daniel Gaitau, the founder of Mānava and The Locker Room Barbershop, dedicated to men's mental health. Being of Samoan descent, raised in both the samoan and Fijian cultures, I birthed Mānava to empower others in navigating their own personal story.
While navigating the darkest time in my life, I placed myself in spaces where I learned tools and modalities that changed my life. From that moment I knew these were too powerful to keep to myself and embarked on a journey to learn from the best in the country in-order to share them back to my community.
The spaces we create at Mānava are a combination of powerful tools and modalities that played a huge role in my story, allowing me to make a u-turn in my life which my family thank me for each day.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Our session will begin with a heart opening cacao ritual, with the intention to take you out of our mind and drop you into your heart.
In a safe and nurturing space, you will then be guided and supported through a series of breathwork techniques allowing you to:
- Reduce stress, anxiety and depression
- Facilitate emotional healing and introspection
- Regulate your nervous system
- Release stored emotions, belief systems and what no longer serves you
- Increased mental clarity and focus
The combination of breathwork and ceremonial cacao facilitates a whole body experience removing you from your thinking mind and connecting you deeper into your heart, intuition and body’s wisdom.
WHAT IS CACAO?
Cacao is an ancient medicinal plant, rich in minerals, known for its dense nutritional content and has been shown to aid the production of serotonin (the “feel good” hormone).
Cacao grows on the Theobroma tree, translated in greek to "food of the gods".
We use this medicine to take us out of our minds and connect us deeper to our heart.
