    Event description

This workshop aims to teach the step-by-step technique of creating Mandala dot art on a small canvas or paper card. Mandala dot art is a pattern made with numerous small, colourful dots, creating dazzling paintings that emphasize symmetry, harmony, and balance. In Sanskrit, "Mandala" means circle, symbolizing the self and the universe. Mandalas can help with centering and serve as a meditation tool.

The workshop facilitator, Sadia Afrin, is a Civil Engineer currently working for the ACT Government. Among her many hobbies, she enjoys experimenting with different art techniques, with Mandala dot art being one of her favourites. She believes that Mandala dot art promotes relaxation, enhances focus, and boosts creativity. As a migrant Australian, Sadia has always been passionate about her cultural roots and the beautiful artefacts created by women from her home country, Bangladesh. As a director and co-founder, she has worked closely with numerous passionate, creative, and hardworking women artisans in both Bangladesh and Australia, helping them design handmade products for the Australian market and showcase their beautiful creations.
