Mandoon Moitch Community Planting Day 5 July 2025
Event description
Join us for a community day of tree planting at Mandoon Moitch (Guildford Meadows) in Caversham
Located on the banks of the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River), this project contains a significant remnant wetland, once surrounded by riparian vegetation and a Eucalyptus rudis (Moitch / Flooded Gum) Woodland.
Largely cleared for grazing in the 1930s with only the wetland and a few large trees remaining, we have been working with Whiteman Park since 2016 to restore the native flora of this Floodplain, with this year reaching 100,000 seedlings planted!
We provide: Trees, planting equipment, facilities, guidance from the Trillion Trees team, and morning tea. Just bring a hat, gloves and sturdy shoes and a raincoat if the weather is wet!
Detailed instructions and maps will be emailed to all attendees a week before the event.
