MANDRILL
Event description
MANDRILL
History is a drag. Edging dangerously close to a TED Talk for the sheer educational thrill of it, MANDRILL is an hour of comedy told in rhyme about playing dress up since the dawn of time. In just under an hour T. Wade breezes through human history from BCE to the Barbie movie to explain why some homo sapiens are expected to wear a dress to the dance when others are supposed to wear a suit and pants.
MANDRILL premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to acclaim from audiences and critics alike. The show was short-listed for “Best Queer Performance” by BingeFringe magazine and received multiple 4 star reviews.
“Beautiful, Hilarious” - Brian McElhaney (BriTANick, SNL)
T. Wade (they/them) spent the last two decades on stage. They have performed their unique blend of verse, stand-up and storytelling in 44 states and 4 countries. They studied improv comedy at UCB in New York and under the private tutelage of the late improv giant Anders Fors. As a standup they have opened for such illustrious talents as Maria Bamford, Jim Gaffigan, Janeane Garofolo, and more. They are a Moth StorySlam winner and their first solo show, CLOWNFISH won Best of Fringe at the 2019 Nugget Fringe Festival. Fans of DnD can listen to their podcast 1PDnD. @awadewithjamandbread
