The Manly Savers Rugby Club Gala Dinner - Cocktail Dress

In celebration of our 113 years as the Manly Savers and in conjunction with the launch of our junior’s division, we are hosting our inaugural Community Gala Dinner on April 23rd, 2023 at The Pavilion, Manly

We are a club steeped in a proud Northern Beaches history and tradition. This year, for the first time in our 112 years, we are fielding U15, U16, U18 and U21 teams, in addition to expanding our adult grade teams from one team, to two.

We are aiming to raise money to improve our facilities, equipment and bring in additional coaching support, amongst other initiatives to support our club community and nurture our junior teams.

The evening features a two-course meal, 4 hour drinks package with a panel of guest speakers, as well as an auction and raffle.

We are thrilled to confirm that three former Wallabies will be on the panel, discussing the highs and lows of top-level rugby. These players have won everything there is to win in the game and we’re incredibly thankful to them for giving their time.

Our MC and host for the evening is former Wallaby, current CEO of the Rugby Union Players Association and pundit for Stan Sports, Justin Harrison. Harrison played 34 Tests for the Wallabies after debuting against the British & Irish Lions in Sydney (2001), as well as making 98 Super Rugby appearances for the Brumbies and NSW Waratahs, winning a Super Rugby title in 2001.

Simon Poidevin AM is a former captain and legend of Australian rugby. Poidevin is one of only four Australian rugby union players, along with David Campese, Michael Lynagh and Nick Farr-Jones, to have won rugby union's Grand Slam (1984), achieved a series victory in New Zealand (1986) and won a Rugby World Cup (1991).

Bill Calcraft is a former Wallaby and Manly legend with a glittering career both on and off the rugby field. Calcraft played three Tests for Australia, 18 tour matches and went on three Wallaby tours in a three-year international career, including the Wallabies 1984 Grand Slam Tour and the 1986 tour win in New Zealand.
