Four days of ideas, conversation and books.

Manly Writers' Festival returns for its fourth year, bringing together some of Australia's most compelling writers, thinkers, journalists and storytellers for four days of lively discussion, fresh perspectives and memorable encounters.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Manly, the Festival explores the issues shaping our world, from politics and international affairs to crime, culture, history, sport and contemporary fiction.

What's happening in 2027?

The Thomas Keneally Oration: Kim Williams AM, one of Australia's most influential media and cultural figures, opens the Festival on Thursday 18 March.
Author conversations and panel discussions: Established and emerging voices explore books, ideas and the stories behind them.
A Night of Crime at Felons: An entertaining evening with some of Australia's leading crime writers.
The Curiosity Project: Our free schools program for Years 9 and 10 students, encouraging curiosity, creativity and confident expression.
Literary events across Manly: From intimate conversations to larger discussions, the Festival brings stories and ideas to venues throughout the heart of Manly.

Whether you're an avid reader, curious about the world or simply enjoy a great conversation, there's something for you at Manly Writers' Festival.
