Description

Join us for a lively evening of food, drink, music, kuier, laughter, and dancing! This casual community event is open to everyone—families, friends, and anyone up for a good time.

Learn to Sokkie!

Sokkie is a fun, easy-to-learn South African partner dance that’s a bit like ballroom, but faster and a lot more fun!

We'll be playing the classic sokkie treffers, and there's a hard dance floor perfect for langarm, so come along and give it a go.

For Everyone

All are welcome, including families! While this is a South African-themed event, all cultures are invited to join the fun.

  • All Levels: Confident sokkiers, music lovers, and beginners alike will find their place on the dance floor.

  • Family Discount: Booking 4 or more tickets? Use code FAMILY at checkout for 15% Discount.

  • Note: Children require tickets and must be supervised at all times. Children under 5 are free.

Food & Drink

  • BYO: Bring your own beverages and snacks. Please remember to drink responsibly!

  • Boerie Rolls: Don’t miss out! Pre-order your authentic Boerewors rolls with your ticket purchase to ensure we have one (or two) waiting for you.

Get Involved

Friends of South Africa Inc. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing people together and building community. This event is run by volunteers, and ticket sales cover the boring (but non-negotiable!) costs like insurance and venue hire

We’d love your help! If you can assist with setup, cleaning, food prep, being a welcome/table host, or providing dance support, please select "Yes" during registration or call Colleen at 0416 471 594.

Note: As this is a community event at a local hall, please help us keep the space clean and keep noise levels low when leaving the venue to respect our neighbours.
