Mantra Beats returns to Raw Power Yoga, voted Brisbane's best Yoga Studio, on Saturday 22nd Feb 2025. In this edition, DJ and Music Producer 'Energee' is collaborating with Yoga Teacher 'Simone Vivacqua' to bring Yoga Fusion to this dance event. Simone will facilitate Yoga stretches for warmup followed by some partner Yoga asanas for nourishing connection with the tribe before the dancing journey begins.

Maha Shivaratri Theme 'Blue'

Maha Shivaratri is a revered Indian festival that honours Lord Shiva and holds deep spiritual significance. Unlike most vedic festivals celebrated during daylight hours, Maha Shivaratri is a unique festival observed during the night. It is believed that on this night, Lord Shiva performed the 'Tandav' dance, a powerful and divine expression of creation and destruction. On this night, the spiritual energies of the Universe are particularly potent and this auspicious occasion marks the convergence of the divine energies of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. In 2025, the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri will be on Wed 26th Feb. We will celebrate Mantra Beats with the Maha Shivaratri Theme on Sat 22nd Feb. If you can, dress up in blue and be creative.

Mahakumbh Mela 2025

Energee has just returned from a two months trip to India. With divine blessings, he got an opportunity to atttend the Mahakumbh Mela with his mother. Based on celestial formations, the 2025 Mahakumbh is a rare event taking place after 144 years. He took a dip in the sacred 'Triveni Sangam' ghat at Prayagraj where rivers Maa Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet. Energee is looking forward to sharing his experiences from the Mahakumbh Mela in the opening and closing circles.

- 6:30pm Doors open, arrive and relax

- 6:45 to 7:10pm Welcome circle

- 7:10 to 7:45pm Yoga stretches and partner Yoga asanas

- 7:45 to 9:10pm Hum, chant and dance to Mantra Beats

- 9:10 to 9:30pm Closing circle and light refreshment.

Music

Mantra Beats is aimed at presenting meditational sounds such as 'Om' and spiritual mantras such as 'Ganeshaya Mantra', 'Gayatri Mantra', 'Hare Krishna Mahamantra', 'Mahamrityunjaya Mantra' etc. with modern dance music. These mantras have powerful vibrations and sound healing properties that many have experienced globally. Combined with Progressive House, which is best defined as journey music, we are in for a special evening. Popular House, EDM, Trance and Techno Music Producers and DJs around the world, such as Stan Kolev, Matan Caspi, Shanti People, Hilight Tribe and more, have incorporated these mantras in their music production and created heaps of amazing tracks; some of them and similar tunes will be played at 'Mantra Beats'.

The event is not about beats pushing movement, instead it is an opportunity and an invitation to listen to the powerful and healing mantras. The tracks that Energee will be playing invite a call-and-response style participation. You are welcome to hum or chant the mantras as per your comfort level while busting some dance moves on the beautiful wodden floor of Raw Power Yoga.

About the Artist

This event is organised by Uri, artist name 'Energee' (@soundofenergee). Energee is a DJ and Electronic Dance Music Producer who has been DJing for more than a decade in a variety of genres and have performed all over Australia and in many cities in India. Energee produces a variety of Prog and Techno tunes that you can find on Spotify/Apple Music like Mantr XV, Slow Down, Kaallii, Jodhana and more.

Born and grew up in India, he learnt the basics of Sanskrit in high school and very connected to the rich culture of the spiritual land. He migrated to Australia almost two decades ago, Meanjin is home and very grateful to live on this land of opportunities.
