Join us for an enlightening journey into the world of canine wellness through our exclusive workshop on manual therapies and massage for dogs. This immersive event is meticulously curated to provide participants with a foundational understanding of canine anatomy, movement, massage techniques, and holistic approaches to maintaining their muscle and joint health.
Led by Jackie from Functional Canine with a special interest segment ran by Daniella from Holistic Dog, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of caring for our furry companions, empowering pet owners to have the confidence to offer this form of manual therapy at home. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical demonstrations and group work, attendees will gain insights into enhancing the well-being of their dogs.
Highlights of the workshop include:
- Foundational exploration of canine anatomy, elucidating the musculoskeletal system and the mechanics of movement.
- Guidance on a variety of massage techniques tailored to address muscular tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation in dogs.
- Understanding and foundational knowledge to empower the creation and development of intuitive massage techniques.
- Insights into natural approaches to managing canine muscle and joint health, encompassing dietary considerations and exercise regimens.
- Specialized segment on laser therapy and thermal imaging, including an overview of its application and live demonstrations showcasing its benefits for canine health.
In addition to the enriching content, participants will receive a printed booklet containing essential information covered in the workshop and pens and so attendees can capture key insights to further their understanding. If desired, attendees may bring an additional notepad but this isn't a requirement.
This manual therapy is best conducted on ground level. Therefore, much of this event will be ran seated on the floor. Please bring cushions, pillows and or a blanket to make yourself as comfortable as possible throughout the duration of the massage workshop. Chairs can be provided at request for those who wish to move between upright seating and the ground.

As we embark on this journey towards canine wellness, participants will have the opportunity to indulge in light refreshments throughout the workshop. To ensure that dietary preferences and requirements are accommodated, we kindly ask attendees to submit their specifications upon registration.

Early bird tickets (available until 21st July): $75 / person
Note: We ask that owners do not bring their own dog this time. There will be one demonstration dog present to assist with learning. Bringing along a smart phone is recommended. Photos and videos may be taken by students at any point in time to assist with learning. The organisers may also take photos and videos of the workshop for promoting future events. There are activities which involve being hands on with other students to practice massage techniques. If any of the above is a concern, please reach out to the event organiser prior to the event.
