Manufacturing Small Business Sustainability Support Workshop - 24th October
Event description
With the growing importance of sustainability and increasing cost pressures, now is the time for South Australian small manufacturers to adapt and position themselves for success in a net zero carbon future.
The Office for Small and Family Business, in collaboration with local sustainability consultants 2XE, invites you to a specialised sustainability workshop tailored for small and family-owned businesses involved in manufacturing. This workshop will help you understand how sustainability can benefit your operations, reduce costs, and open up new market opportunities.
Join us on the 24th of October for this interactive workshop designed specifically for small and family-owned manufacturers looking to:
- Improve energy efficiency in production processes.
- Reduce material waste and optimise resource use.
- Explore sustainable sourcing and supply chain practices.
- Understand emissions reduction strategies and their impact on your business.
Manufacturers attending the workshop will gain:
- Practical insights on how to implement sustainability initiatives that drive cost savings.
- A deeper understanding of emissions reduction options specific to manufacturing operations, such as energy-efficient machinery, waste reduction, and renewable energy sources.
- Tools and resources to better access and interpret data relevant to emissions and resource efficiency in your business.
Following the workshop, participants will also have the opportunity to engage in a 1-1 consultation with sustainability experts to review their current practices, discuss specific technologies, and identify improvement opportunities tailored to their manufacturing processes.
This workshop will also highlight the recently launched $20m Small Business Energy Efficiency Grants Program, which provides matched funding between $2,500 and $50,000 to help businesses:
- Upgrade to energy-efficient manufacturing equipment.
- Reduce energy consumption in day-to-day operations.
- Implement waste reduction initiatives.
- Adopt sustainable production technologies.
This event is open to South Australian manufacturers with less than 20 full time equivalent employees, or family-owned businesses of any size which have not participated in any other South Australian Government programs focusing on environmental, net zero, circular economy and other sustainable business practices.
