In the fifth of our seminar series Modern Art Projects Blue Mountains (MAPBM) is very pleased to present AI and me with Ian Milliss at RoseyRavelston Books, 1 Badgery Crescent Lawson at 6:00pm on Wednesday 25 June 2025

I'll be talking about several projects I'm working on using AI to both research and generate material. I have been interested in data visualisation for decades and I even edited an issue of the art magazine Artlink in 2017 devoted to data visualisation. I have had a several ideas I have been working on for years that are only now becoming technically feasible as AI becomes both cheap and powerful enough to carry them out. They involve robots, UBI, electoral reform, Cementa, and China. All will be revealed on the night. – Ian Milliss

Ian Milliss Short Biography
Ian Milliss, born in Sydney in 1950, is one of Australia's pioneering conceptual artists. Beginning his exhibition career as a teenager at Central Street Gallery in the late 1960s, Milliss quickly evolved beyond traditional painting to explore participatory art and cultural activism. By the early 1970s, he redefined the artist's role as a catalyst for cultural change rather than merely creating objects. His groundbreaking work with spatial interventions, community activism, and the Victoria Street squats, trade union arts programs and the Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation (KSCA) established him as an influential figure who argues that the most culturally significant activities often happen outside conventional art institutions. – Ian's Bio written by Genspark AI
