You’re invited to participate in a 1-day workshop held at the beautiful Living Springs retreat centre in Allandale, near Governors Bay. The day allows for gentle conversation and processing of various components of life that contribute to our wellness.

We are all bombarded with wellbeing products, services, and hacks, and most of us are doing the best we can to choose what works for our personal wellness goals. This retreat won’t be about selling anything or convincing you to take a particular path. Instead, it’s the perfect invitation for anyone wanting a day of reflection, rejuvenation, and connection with like-minded folks.

This is your opportunity to reflect not only on your relationship with others in your life, but also the most central relationship: that with yourself.

Your Facilitators  - Janel & Shell

JANEL

JANEL

Janel Atlas is a positive, practical, and intuitive mindfulness teacher and relationship coach who never feels more on purpose than when she’s helping you bring your life and relationships into alignment with love, joy, and growth.

Born in the United States, Janel has lived in Ōtautahi/Christchurch since 2015. She has worked as a writer, teacher, and researcher, including earning her PhD in rhetoric and composition in 2020, and currently trains educators in a mindfulness-based intervention to support tamariki wellbeing.

Janel is usefully pushy and a joymuse, a recovering people-pleaser, and deeply committed to helping you have the difficult conversations for higher levels of happiness and wellbeing.

When she isn’t nerding out about relationships or teaching mindfulness, Janel enjoys spending time with her three kids and her cat, walking, traveling, and singing.

SHELL

SHELL

Shell Withers is a multi-modality practitioner with a background in mental health lived experience and energy work. A lifetime learner, she continues to sample and practice the many ways to well-being and has ever evolving goodness in her toolkit to share.

As well as her private practice Reflexable, she delivers workshops and training to students, health professionals, and those hungry to hear her story and discover ways to streamline wellness. Shell believes that with the right support, you can be empowered to make choices that matter, making being well, simpler and achievable. 

Born in Christchurch, Shell has travelled extensively and connects globally each week with others over wellness, including on her cohosted YouTube vodcast called The WildFLOWers.

Shell is super-social so human connection is vital, but she also savours spending time being in nature, going for a float, and doing embroidery. 

Keen to meet you where you are at, Shell offers a range of options so you can find a landing or launch pad for your way of being well.

Components of Workshop

The workshop is made up of two key parts – Relationships & Wellness Planning

The day is underpinned by Play, Connection, Creation.

This is about relating to ourselves and others and what takeaways will enhance our wellness roadmap.


You will:

  • Explore your relationship with your higher power (Higher Self, God/Goddess, Source, Universe, Love);
  • Reflect on how you get in touch with your own needs and boundaries;
  • Take away some specific, actionable practices that support healthier relating with your friends, family, partner, and co-workers; and
  • Create your unique Wellness Plan - a flexible, beautifully simple tool for noting what is key for you to focus on.

Everyone is asked to bring:

  • an open heart and some curiosity
  • a willingness to share 
  • yourself in comfortable clothing to move around the room in
  • your water bottle
  • notebook & pens of choice

The workshop begins 10am sharp and finishes 4:15pm.  

More details about the day will be shared on arrival as we are hoping you will trust that the offer feels right for you as you have landed here.

You can count on a generous lunch window that will allow you to wander in the immediate bush area, connect with other retreat participants, or phone home; an ample, healthy lunch will be provided by Living Springs.

A 'further info' sheet will be emailed to those who sign up covering things such as carpooling, bringing items of comfort, and more. 
Light movement will be encouraged throughout the day more in the context of play. This is not a yoga event 

Hot beverages will always be available, including tea, coffee, herbal teas, and hot chocolate, as well as some snacks. 
The drinking water at Living Springs is great!

Refund policy

80% is refundable up to 10 days prior to the event. 20% is refundable if you cancel days 0-9 prior to the event. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend the event, we will endeavour to refund 50% of the ticket price back to you if we can resell the ticket to someone else before the event begins. Please note that tickets are transferable, so if you purchase and decide to pass on to someone else, simply use the edit feature in Humantix.
