Description

Marc Douglas Berardo and Louise Coombe bring two distinct songwriting voices together for an evening built on stories, craft, and connection. Berardo, a veteran performer with more than three decades on the road, is known for thoughtful songs, quick humor, and the kind of storytelling that draws listeners deep into the moment. Louise Coombe pairs award-winning songwriting with a striking voice and a warm stage presence, weaving personal and historical stories between her Americana-folk songs. In the intimate setting of Godfrey Daniels’ Live Music Listening Room, their shared night of music promises wit, reflection, and songs that stay with you long after the final note.

Marc Douglas Berardo is a thought-provoking songwriter as well as a fancy wooden guitar player who uses humor and deft storytelling to rally an audience and lead them into a deep and sometimes spiritual experience. After over 35 years of performing in every conceivable situation and winning awards and recognition for his songs in a boatload of national festivals like Rocky Mountain Folks, Telluride, Kerrville New Folk, Suwanee and Wildflower as well as being voted “best interview and live performance feature” on Sirius/ XM Satellite Radio show The Village, Berardo has established himself as the real deal. A “lifer” that No Depression Magazine called: “sincere, fluid, charming, and above all gripping.”

A few of the many highlights of 2025 include Berardo as the subject of a feature story by Jan Tomay in the legendary Ink Magazine, and a headline appearance at the 40th Tucson Folk Festival in Arizona, along with the fiery dobro player Abbie Gardner.  Berardo’s highly regarded 2024 release “The Beauty of This Now” was recorded in Austin, Texas, and produced by Texas legends Ron Flynt and Walt Wilkins.

John Apice of Americana Highways wrote: “There’s a seriousness to Marc’s compositions that’s not apparent in the slew of artists who seem to have a lot of nothing to say in an album’s worth of music…Marc is cut from the same cloth as James Taylor, early Elton John, or maybe Mark Twain…”

"Berardo takes you to a place within yourself to make changes you want to see in the world." Mary Sue Twohy, The Village, Sirius/XM Radio

"Marc Douglas Berardo writes songs that are witty without being superficial, intelligent without being ponderous, fun without being silly.  He performs them with an infectious verve. On top of that, he doesn¹t seem to have the slightest idea of just how good he is.”  David Olney, Songwriter and Performer, Nashville, TN

Louise Coombe
louisecoombe.com

Louise grew up on a farm in middle TN with English parents; is a late bloomer; writes lots of Americana-folk songs and tells the stories behind them. Compared to Nanci Griffith, Emmy Lou Harris, and Alison Krauss, she’s opened shows for America, Joe Ely, Jonatha Brooke, Allison Moorer, Greg Trooper, Malcom Holcombe, Mindy Smith, and Cliff Eberhardt.

A Louise Coombe show is warm, intimate, funny, and thought-provoking…she weaves together narratives between songs peppered with humorous personal stories and historical anecdotes with her unique Southern POV. The first thing most people remark on is her voice. Louise is a classically trained singer with a big pop voice (and a touch of twang) and an award-winning songwriter. Audiences also love her stories behind the songs and her honest, polished delivery. She has won top honors at songwriting contests around the country, including Kerrville (TX) New Folk (2x winner – the only one!), Telluride Bluegrass Festival (CO), Rocky Mountain Folks Fest (CO), Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (NY), and SolarFest (VT).

Louise’s historical songs have been used in two documentaries broadcast on PBS. She has played at esteemed venues such as The Bluebird Café in Nashville, The Birchmere in D.C., Club Passim in Boston, XM/Sirius in D.C., 30A Songwriter Festival (FL), and Caffe Lena in Saratoga, NY.

“Louise Mosrie may well be the brightest young folk-oriented artist to emerge from Nashville in many a year.” – Rich Warren, WFMT-FM Chicago

“Mosrie’s compositions are thoughtful, refined creations.” – Maverick Magazine

“...this Nashville-based singer/songwriter blew us away with her in-store performance. Like listening to Patty Griffin and Susan Tedeschi at the same time. Highlight of the 30A Songwriter Festival.” – Central Square Records, Seaside, FL
