OF THOSE 1 IN 3, 60% THEN GO ON TO EXPERIENCE POST NATAL DEPRESSION AS A RESULT.

Leading women to feel alone, isolated, disconnected from their babies, like they are failing...and on it goes.

The maternal health care in Australia needs to CHANGE!

There are far too many unnecessary interventions taking place based on FEAR and DISTRUST of the birthing woman.

Also, the caesarean section rate being at 35% in Aus, the HIGHEST in the developed world, brings to light just how much this system, like most, is run by the dollar, with lack of care for the birthing woman.

Equally, so much focus being on the health of the baby, over and above the mother.

I believe there is a way for birthing in the medical system to be both SAFE and SACRED.

Where mutual RESPECT is shared between care provider and mother, where there is TRUST in the birthing woman, as well as help at hand IF needed...but ONLY if truly necessary.

It is up to us, the BIRTHING WOMAN, to be the VOICE for this change.

It is time for us to TAKE BACK OUR POWER and RIGHTS over the way we choose to birth OUR babies.

We MUST start using our voices and take a stand for our BASIC BIRTHING RIGHTS - which are HUMAN RIGHTS!

Join us on AUGUST 7TH as we rally together for the first MARCH FOR MOTHERS, to use our voices for POSITIVE CHANGE!

We will gather at Mater Mothers Hospital (police are aware and safety measures will be in place) and march to The Brisbane Wheel.

This is a family friendly event, mothers, children, partners all welcome.
