March HUBday | Founder 101
Description
Get started the right way with Activator.
Founder 101 cuts through the hype to explore what it really means to build something from the ground up.
Entrepreneurship is often romanticised — fast growth, funding rounds and overnight success stories. But what actually defines a founder? What makes a startup different from a traditional business? And how do you know if this pathway is right for you?
Founder 101 is an interactive RMIT Activator event for anyone curious about the founder journey, whether you have a rough idea, an early-stage side project, or you’re simply wondering what entrepreneurship actually looks like in practice.
This session is designed to kick off the year by opening the door to the RMIT Activator ecosystem and giving you a grounded introduction to what it takes to start well.
We’ll explore the less glamorous but essential parts of building anything meaningful: mindset, resilience, grit, humility, learning fast, and working well with others. You’ll also hear directly from founders who’ve been in the thick of it: what surprised them, what tested them, and what helped them keep going.
This is not about startup hype. It’s a practical, honest session about the inner game and team dynamics of founding, with space to reflect, contribute, and connect.
