Event description

Saturday June 24, 10.30am-1.00pm

Working with watercolours is one of the simplest ways to create beautiful images. This workshop is for beginners and those with a bit of painting experience. Each participant will create a series of small watercolour landscapes, learning about colour theory and how colours interact. There is no set formula to how you will make your paintings; it’s very much your own creation, your choices. Marianne will be there to guide and support you.

INCLUSIONS: All materials and access to equipment
BRING: An apron (tea/coffee and bikkies courtesy of The Makers Shed)
AGE SUITABILITY: Participants of ages 15+ are welcome

Ceramicist and painter Marianne la Cour creates abstract landscape paintings and rustic Nordic inspired ceramics. "Living in a rural community it’s hard not to be inspired by the nature around you," she says. "I also draw inspiration from my country of birth – Denmark. My practice is about place - a sense of place, a connection to place and the feeling of belonging to a place. It can be a psychical place, a place of dreams or a place in my heart. I love colours and I create colour combinations as reference to places and days."
