Tauranga Moana Marine Science and Innovation Open Day
Hosted by the University of Waikato Coastal Marine Field Station
This is a free event for the community, where people of all ages can learn about, and interact with research, science, technology and innovation in and around our marine, coastline and harbour environments. Hosted by the University of Waikato Coastal Marine Field Station team, there will be a range of activities for all the family, including;
- Go underwater in the harbour via a remotely operated underwater vehicle;
- Get hands on with seaweed and see some of its amazing applications
- Learn about amazing science including ocean acoustic monitoring and Antarctic sampling
- Play the Marine Invaders Game*
- See how DIY kayak building works
And much more!
Cost: Free. But please register so we know how many people are coming!
Location: The Cargo Shed, Dive Crescent, Tauranga
Time: 10:00 am - 1:30pm
*The Marine Invaders Game activation will be held at the University of Waikato campus on Durham Street. Please register for this workshop, as places are limited.
