Local experts explore coastal erosion, turtle mortalities, oyster reef restoration and freshwater impacts following heavy rainfall. Bob Creese from EcoNetwork will MC the event, helping you to understand the future of Port Stephens' coastal and marine environments.

Lineup

  • Iain Watt

    President of EcoNetwork. Iain is a semi-retired International marine environmental consultant and trainer in marine conservation and habitat restoration. He will speak on Coastal Erosion in the Port Stephens area.

  • Ryan and Lia Pereira

    Co-Founders of Sea Shelter and Owners of Irukandji Shark and Ray encounters. Ryan is a marine biology and environmental science specialist, and Lia a former Zookeeper. The pair will speak about Turtle mortalities.

  • Vicky Cole

    Research Scientist for NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development at the Port Stephens Fisheries Institute. Vicky will present research on oyster reef restoration.

  • Dave Harasti and Tom Davis

    Dave is a Principal Research Scientist and Tom a Research Scientist at NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. They collaborate extensively on marine biodiversity and threatened species management. They will speak on freshwater impacts following heavy rainfall events.
