Event description
Join us for the Marion Battle of the Bands! Over two EPIC days we will hear from the best local talent Marion has to offer! There are two categories - and they're competing for a lifechanging prize - a mentoring and recording package from Island Recording studios that will culminate in the release of a single!
Not only will you get to hear the next BIG thing before they become huge, but there is an EPIC headline act to close each night at 7pm.
On Saturday we have Choosing Sides - Choosing Sides is an explosive indie-rock music from Adelaide/Kaurna Land. Hailing from the south coast of Adelaide, Choosing Sides are one of the most energetic and contagiously fun young acts to recently emerge on the Australian indie-rock scene!
On Sunday we'll be treated to a performance from The Empty Threats. Winners of the 2023 National Music Awards BEST LIVE ACT, The Empty Threats are are an energetic/ eccentric 5-piece post-punk/noise-rock band from Kaurna Land/Adelaide in South Australia. With a perfect blend of influences from across many genres and a captivating and unique live performance, the band is a cornerstone live act amongst the Adelaide music community.
This FREE event also features an epic market activation in the Marion Cultural Centre Plaza - with over 40 young stallholders aged 5 - 25, a chillout zone, live solo acoustic performances and a sensory safe space hosted by Young Hearts Pop up Markets from 11am each day.
