Mark Gabriel Little
Event description
Join us for an intimate, moving exploration of love, life and loss with singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Mark Gabriel Little. Coming off the release of his first solo acoustic album, "Beautiful Psalms," Mark will present a collection of original songs for solo voice and piano at Black & Tan Hall. The night will be characterized by infectious melodies, pared down arrangements, penetrating lyrics, and unexpected musicality.
Mark Gabriel Little's work builds on his training and experience in Atlantic African music from R&B, to jazz, reggae, funk, hip-hop, and Negro spirituals. Mark also incorporates elements from many others musical traditions including Indigenous North America, West Africa, Classical European, and East Asia. Mark has pursued an eclectic music career including time in singing in choirs, performing synth-fueled afrofuturistic soul, and writing avant-garde compositions for choreography and film. Mark is based in Chapel Hill, NC.
