Join over 1000 community members and leaders to act for the common good in Queensland!

The Maroonprint Election Assembly will be the biggest people power event of the 2024 State Election. We will share stories, propose solutions and negotiate outcomes with the Premier and Opposition Leader based on Maroonprint 2024: Our Community Driven Agenda for Queensland.

Through rolling listening campaigns with thousands of people, our Alliance has put together Maroonprint 2024 which captures the direction needed by the 1.7 million Queenslanders represented by our Alliance. It's a "Maroonprint" because why have a "blueprint" in Queensland!

Our 6 key issue areas are:

First Nations Justice.
Safe and Connected Communities.
Accelerating Queensland's Renewable Energy transition.
Welcoming New Queenslanders.
Thrive by Five.
Secure Work.

Getting There

The Cathedral is located at 405 Ann Street, between Brisbane’s CBD and Fortitude Valley with fantastic public transport access.
Central Station is less than two blocks (5 minutes’ walk) away along Ann Street.
Check the TransLink website for train, bus and ferry information.
Paid underground parking available at Cathedral Square Car Park on opposite side of Ann St. Cost is $5 after 5pm.
There is no on-street parking directly outside the Cathedral.
Disabled access to the Cathedral is via doors on the northern (carpark) and southern (St Martin’s courtyard) sides.

The Queensland Community Alliance brings together 32 member organisations representing 1.7 million Queenslanders. We organise our members and communities to act for the common good. We are churches, mosques, other faith groups, trade unions, community organisations and ethnic associations.

Community organising is democracy in action: winning victories that change lives, transform communities, develop leadership and strengthen civil society.

This Alliance is based around the personal relationships we build across organisations in our local area. We identify and train people to become leaders in community organising, and decide our priorities for action together, through a process of listening to stories of pressures that our members face and witness.

The core elements of our Alliance are:

Non-partisan. Holding politicians of all parties to their responsibility to serve the community.
Adhering to the rule never to do for other what they can do for themselves.
We will work in partnership to together solve the problems we face.
A commitment to listening to the voice of the excluded and partnership with the most vulnerable in our community.
Self-funding— funded out of the dues of member organisations (contributing according to their size and capacity), and not accepting government funding.
Working only on issues that make our Alliance stronger. We do not work on issues which bring core values of our members into tension. Instead, we seek to address the tension that exists between our shared values, and what we witness in the world.

Our Alliance draws on the community organising tradition of the United States. Our sister organisations are the Sydney Alliance, Hunter Community Alliance, Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga (New Zealand) and Citizens UK.
