    Event description

    MARVELLOUS MOTHS

    Moths are often misunderstood but they hold vital roles in ecosystem biodiversity and provide important information on the health of our environment.  They are an important food source for many birds, mammals and other insects as well as being important pollinators. However, many individual species have declined in recent decades. Come along and hear from moth enthusiast Belinda Pearce on what you can do to play your part in helping these marvellous creatures.

     This information afternoon will help you understand:

    • how to attract moths
    • basic moth identification 
    • how to be part of 2023 Great Southern Blitz Moth night on Nov 26
    • how to upload your results
    • Afternoon tea will be provided
    • Physical Fitness level required: EASY ( sitting for 1 and a half hours)

      PLEASE NOTE: While we are able to cater for gluten-free and vegetarian options at our events it is difficult to cater for every dietary requirement due to our limited funding. If you have dietary requirements outside of these two options please bring your own food and drink.
