Event description

Calling all budding engineers! This week we’re creating an amazing range of moving toys using common everyday materials such as elastic bands and aluminium cans. At the end of the workshop we’ll have an epic toy race!

This Summer Holidays join us at the Tweed Regional Museum for a fun range of workshops and activities celebrating all things toys, inspired by our GAME ON exhibition.

About GAME ON

GAME ON features a treasure trove of over 200 vintage toys spanning from the early 1900s to the 1980s. Relive a golden era of play with an incredible collection of Boomeroo Australian made toys, cherished by generations of kids. Play our early 1980s video games. Challenge your wits with Nintendo Pac-Man or rediscover the magic of Atari.

You can also find us on the road with our Museum on Wheels, aka the MoW, a first of it's kind mobile Museum. The MoW brings exhibitions, objects, workshop and unique experiences to festivals, markets, events and special locations throughout the Tweed and beyond.

The Tweed Regional Museum Collection includes over 50,000 images and 15,000 objects that tell stories of the history and culture of the Tweed, from 20 million years ago to the present day. You can search the collection online, or contact us for specific research enquiries.
