Masterclass for Registered Nurses: Trauma Informed Practice and Suicide Prevention
Description
Join renowned mental health nursing leader, Professor Nicholas Procter, for an engaging evening exploring trauma-informed practice and its intersection with suicide prevention.
Understanding and responding to suicide is a national priority. Suicidal thoughts and intent can fluctuate and intensify rapidly. These changes are often driven by acute, fast-moving processes that may not be easy to discuss or explain. This session will cover the influence of trauma upon suicide and safety planning in suicide prevention with people in distress. It will explain the underlying logic of trauma informed practice and person-centred care and ways to support someone experiencing distress. You will also have the opportunity to hear more about the Graduate Diploma in Nursing specialising in Mental Health from the Program Director.
