Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience internationally acclaimed guitarist Claire Angel Bonner up close.
The morning will begin at 10am with a presentation on the 19th century guitar. Entitled "In search of Sor's orchestra: the mysterious sound world of the 19th century guitar."
It focuses on the topic of implied orchestration in the 19th century guitar repertoire. With Claire's approach putting accessibility at the forefront, the concepts in this presentation will be both easily understood by listeners with minimal or no musical background and thought provoking and stimulating for guitarists who may wish to incorporate them into their own musical practice.
After the presentation each masterclass participant will then have 30-45min each (depending on numbers) with Claire
Whether you’re a guitar student looking to develop your playing, or simply a lover of great music, this intimate workshop and masterclass offers a rare insight into the artistry, technique and musicianship of an international performer.
Come along, be inspired and discover what’s possible on the classical guitar!

Claire captivated her Edinburgh audience with an inventive and deeply musical recital, showcasing the expressive power of the guitar in its most authentic form. She brought the music vividly to life.
Claire provided an immersive day of 19th century guitar artistry, including a highly informed, succinct lecture, an inclusive master class, and a brilliant solo recital of variety and depth.
All participants benefited from her insightful clarity. She is encouraging with practical guidance. My students who participated found the day refreshing, supportive and relevant to their development.
The way she connected with her students was a joy to behold, with eye contact and empathy, and very encouraging analysis of their playing. A brilliant style, and an inspiration to me as a teacher.
Brilliant and informative slides, a relaxed, conversational style, and a scrupulously prepared presentation. Questions were answered with great understanding.
