Masterclass: Writing Long Form for the Stage and Screen
Event description
In this six-week writing intensive, participants will learn the basics of writing for the stage and screen and will hopefully learn the skills to write a full-length play or film script. Prolific playwright and AWGIE-nominated feature film writer Bina Bhattacharya will lead a masterclass in developing a writing practice that honours your artistic voice while considering your audience.

Method: Face-to-face
Topics include:
Cultivating and maintaining writing discipline and practice
Writing elements – plot, characters, theme, tone, humour, spectacle, dramaturgy, world-building, genre, writing realistic dialogue, re-writing for perfection
Outcomes:
Participants will be guided through the creation of a new work and will have the opportunity to share their writing and ideas in the final session.
