Description

Learn how to weave together multiple character perspectives and plotlines in your work.

It’s all about perspective. A single story can be told from multiple angles, and in this workshop, you’ll tackle how to weave together multiple character perspectives and plotlines in a cohesive, enriching way. From multiple eras to varying points of view on the same event, learn practical skills to create intersections in your own multi-layered storytelling.

Learning outcomes

The workshop aims to give participants the skills to:

  • Manage multiple point of view (POV) character perspectives on a single plot event
  • Pace multiple POV character events to drive the plot forward
  • Ensure different POV characters are distinct from one another
  • Create narrative devices that link (or create ‘intersections’) between characters and plotlines that never meet
  • Manage multiple timelines and places within a single story

      Format

This is an online workshop with a focus on craft; it will be hosted via Zoom. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels and writing backgrounds.
