Matariki with B Local Tāmaki Makaurau

Join B Local Tāmaki Makaurau and B Lab Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand for a special evening to celebrate Matariki, the Māori New Year, in the courtyard at Beau in Ponsonby.

We’re honoured to welcome Eileen Bowden, Kaihautū & Events Management at Miraka Limited, who will travel from Taupō to share her kōrero on the significance of Matariki. Eileen will guide us into the evening with a karakia, helping us ground in the kaupapa of remembrance, celebration, and renewal.

We’ll also hear from Michele Wilson (Tainui, Ngāti Paoa), Aotearoa Manager at B Lab AANZ, who will share her whānau’s own Matariki ceremony and reflections, offering a personal and cultural connection to this time of year.

This is an opportunity to come together as a purpose-led community, to reflect, connect, and honour the season in a meaningful way.
