MATES Apprentice Resilience Program
Event description
Free resilience training for QLD construction industry apprentices.
Our apprentices rank among the most vulnerable workers in Australia.
They're up to 20x more likely to have experienced thoughts about suicide, workplace bullying, and quality of life issues/depression, than your average Aussie.
Only roughly half of all apprentices actually complete their trade.
Supported by, and in consultation with industry MATES has developed a resilience program for apprentices to help employers forge the next generation of industry leaders and meet obligations under the new Psychosocial Code of Practice.
The 5 hour catered session covers:
- resilience and self-care,
- financial management,
- alcohol and other drugs awareness,
- suicide and mental health literacy,
- workplace bullying, and
- workplace rights.
Employers are provided with a statement of attendance to retain as evidence of proactive action on psychosocial safety, apprentices get a free feed, some awesome MATES merch, and the opportunity to be heard and learn how to build a resilient industry.
We're building a safer, stronger industry, get involved and take the lead in training our emerging leaders.
❗ Participants must be current QLD construction industry apprentices - contact host if unsure
